Clarence Valley Council Positive Ageing Strategy

We are currently developing Council's Positive Ageing Strategy. Consultation in the form of World Cafes will be held during October 2010. Additionally on-line forums will be established to provide the opportunity to discuss ideas generated by community members. Keep an eye out for details, or check here again later for locations and dates.

Why? The population of the Clarence Valley is ageing. Between 2001 and 2006 the population aged up to 49 years decreased by approximately 1,500, while the population aged 50 years and over increased by approximately 2,500 persons. Council needs to plan to ensure facilities and services support and serve the community and that the Clarence Valley continues to be a great place to live as the years roll by!

Clarence Valley Council Disability Action Plan

We are currently developing Clarence Valley Council's Disability Action Plan.

A survey is available on Council's website and closes on 2 July 2010.

Why? Council is developing the Disability Action Plan to ensure equal access to Council's buildings, facilities and services for people with a disability by identifying and addressing barriers to participation; including phyical, information, communication and attitudinal barriers.

Who? The survey is designed for all people, including employees of Clarence Valley Council, who care about equality of access for people with a disability, not only those with a disability or their carer.
